The History of CMOMC

The Catholic Mom Community began several years ago in 2000 at CatholicMom.com, owned and run by Lisa Hendley (lisa_catholicmom).

In the summer of 2002 Lisa offered the community forum to Sassy Cummings to run as a separate entity. Sassy accepted and asked Lisa Barker (LittleMom) to help administrate the new message board. They continue to lead the Catholic Mom Community today, now known as CMOMC.org, in conjunction with a group of moms known as the Founding Moms, while remaining in close affiliation with CatholicMom.com.

The Founding Moms are those moms that volunteered, when a general petition was made public in July 2002, to help create and run the new message board community. Because the group has remained intact and has never been open to new membership, this has assured a consistent vision at CMOMC over the years.

Not always public, the Founding Moms have worked behind the scenes in a forum called The Upper Room praying and discerning the scope and purpose of the community. It was decided in March 2005, with the creation once again of a full website, that the Founding Moms would no longer remain invisble.

New moms and long-time moms may not recognize all the names of the Founding Moms and this attests to the fact that the Founding Moms have preferred to remain out of the spotlight. But after three years, the administrators feel confident that CMOMC will endure as will the Founding Moms and so we will take a more firm and public role at CMOMC. Beginning in April 2005 ALL Founding moms will be moderators.

As always, we encourage all to pray for the good of the community and that the community leaders will remain true to the purpose of CMOMC.org.

Note: Due to the need for increased security, all administration forums are now invisible, but we assure you that the Founding Moms are present and continue to pray and work for the good of the community.
